Avvocato Gianluca Benedetti read law at Sapienza University of Rome and holds the Licentiate and the Doctorate in Canon Law from the Pontifical Lateran University. He also holds a Master of Comparative Law from The Dickinson School of Law, Pennsylvania State University, where he subsequently taught in the Overseas Summer Courses.
He has practised in Rome since 1998, the year in which he was admitted both to the Rome Bar and to the Register of Advocates of the Roman Rota. He has been enrolled as an Advocate before the courts of Vatican City State since 2000, and before the Italian Supreme Court of Cassation since 2011.
From 1990 to 2005 he worked with the Secretary of the Apostolic Camera, and from 1998 to 2002 with the Adjunct Promoter of Justice at the Court of Appeal of Vatican City State, acquiring experience in ecclesiastical administrative law and in the disciplinary law of Vatican City State.

Over more than thirty years the firm’s work has centred on matrimonial causes before diocesan tribunals and the Roman Rota, on proceedings before the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, and on criminal, patrimonial and civil-liability causes before the courts of Vatican City State. Alongside this, the firm conducts Italian civil litigation in family law, succession, civil liability, contract and banking disputes, including before the Court of Cassation.
He has taught Comparative Family Law and Canon Law.
